Not the best book I've ever read, but decent for a book I picked up for 50 cents at a book sale. I felt that at some points the tone was a little inconsistent- the writing was more of a juvenile style, but at points there were some darker, more morbid descriptions that didn't fit with the humorous tone in other parts of the book. The idea for this book isn't the most original in the world (an evil magician steals children and harms others in his inexhaustible quest for immortality), but I felt that the author put an interesting twist. All in all, this book is a pretty fast read that I would recommend if you like fantasy and adventure stories.
I think I'd read this with the lights on. The Sorcerer seems to haunt every page whether he's in the action or not. It's scary and suspenseful and very funny. You gotta read this book!
I read this book with my kids, ages 12 and 15, and we all loved it! We thoroughly enjoyed this book!!! It was full of suspense and humor; Very captivating! I highly recommend it!
Read the entire book in one sitting. The short chapters keep the reader engaged. Interesting mixture of horror, innocence and hint of humor made me constantly wonder what was going to happen on the next page. Easy read for adolescent or adult readers.
