Informative book that is clear and to the point. I agree with the precious reviewer, I don't have the time to read a book that is much longer! I feel I understand what the IS, its background and what it stands for. Good read for those who want to understand the subject a but more but are strapped for time!

Great book! I don't have a whole lot of time to read through a 250 page book to get an understanding of world events. So, this is just the book I was looking for! I was able to read this book on my commute into work. It's to-the-point, covers the most important aspects, and gives me the critical understanding I need to have an intelligent conversation on this complicated subject. I hope the author does more books like these. I would certainly buy them. I highly recommend!
The author has obviously done a great deal of research and this book would serve as a useful resource to any student who needs to do the same for any number of possible assignments.I also agree with another reviewer that it is a good way to teach yourself enough to be able to hold an intelligent conversation about current events. Most importantly, it is in no way propaganda or biased in one direction or another. It is straightforward and informative and overall educational. It does take about an hour to read all the way through but the chapters are organized and easy to get to if there is a need to drill down to any one particular subtopic.
